TEVIN BRADLEY PREPARES TO CATWALK IN SPAIN

At the age of 22 ,Tevin Bradley has managed to scope two national titles.Which is a dream that many in the modelling industry are hoping to achieve, even though they have passed his age.
Tevin is expected to represent Zimbabwe in an international stage in Spain, where he is eyeing for Mr Model Mediterraneo Global .
In an exclusive interview he tells us more about the title and the importance of sponsoring the boy child in the modelling industry .
Q:At the age of 22 you have managed to successful win a number of titles in the Modelling industry can you share with us about your past ?A:To be honest it might seem all good and colorful but the truth is to get to the rose itself you have to pass through it’s thorny stem.I started as a Vixen in years backs and l also ventured into Fashion only discovering l also wanted everything to do with Modelling so l tried all categories and here l am doing any type of Modelling. The road had it’s ups and down l almost thought of quitting but that thought gave me strength to toughen up.The industry ain’t for the faint hearted because there are a lot of disheartening circumstances and obstacles for example being rigged at pageants, lack of support and sponsorship, potential clients and sponsors wanting more than you can offer but one has to find a way around all this inoder to get there. There are a lot of free gigs than paying ones and for the paying gigs they mostly take who are already in the game and there is very much of nepotism. Seeing this l started advocating for upcoming models like me because the journey to success in this industry is so demotivating and it can lead to manipulation.

Q:Tevin you derive from the city of Gweru aka City of progress can you tell us more about it’s modelling sector? A:The Modelling industry in Gweru is very shallow even though we produce well groomed and fire models who end up relocating to other big cities for greener pastures. Our industry need gigs and sponsorships hence in our nation most companies’ headquarters are in Harare and Bulawayo leaving Gweru with no market for models. Even if we approach companies here in Gweru their replies are the same”the HR department at our headquarters in Harare are the ones responsible for gigs and such deals “ .Leaving us with small firms like boutiques and photographers mainly and most of the gigs are either free or they pay even below the normal rate.
Q:What inspired you to take part in the pageant sector
A:I  love experiencing different things so l thought of just giving myself a short at it and also seeing that title gives one the mileage and even a base even when approaching brands they ask you about your titles so as to see if you can be of any impact if they incorporate you
Q:Can you share with us your latest title and also the lessons you learnt from the experience of the event? A:My latest title is Mr Model Mediterraneo Global Zimbabwe This title comes with the responsibility to represent Zimbabwe at a Global competition which is set to take place in Spain.
On this one l ask for all well wishers who are willing to chip in for me to be able to meet the requirements of the competition and represent our nation very well
Q:What changes are you hoping to see in Zimbabwe’s modelling sector especially for the boy child ? A:I expect to see many changes in the Modelling industry in Zimbabwe especially for the boy child because we lack support everyone is now focusing on the girl child.Even for a boy to get sponsorship it’s very hard as compared to a girl. Man sponsors the girl child mostly and women support their fellow women leaving the boys unattended.
Q:In the modelling sector whom do you look up to ? A:Globally l look up to Mr SupraNational 2019(Nate Crnkovich from Omaha, Nebraska, USA, a 24 year old ER and trauma nurse )he was the first American to win the title.
Q:Being a model and actor you are also involved in the film industry, what are the similar attributes between the two sectors ?
A:Modelling and acting are almost the same although acting involves more work than Modelling.
Actors have to concern themselves with how well they can convince the audience of the emotion they’re trying to portray.Models concern themselves with how well their image is assisting the product.
Q:Which titles are you hoping to win in the future of your modelling career ?A:I am hoping to win the Mr Model Mediterraneo Global title and also the Mr SupraNational title. All this l can archive through the support of our nation and other well wishers because the requirements are so overwhelming for me to be able to meet them by myself so l call for anyone who feels like putting a hand in my dreams and help me get there.
