In addition he explains to us the importance of a positive relationship between a photographer and a model .

Q:Hie can you define yourself in three words?A:Ambitious, perfectionist, logical.
Q:What makes you distinct from other models?A: I would say my knowledge of the creative industry and my eye for aesthetics.

Q:How did your career within the modeling industry began?A:Unofficially, I started taking self-portraits and exploring social media, editing and industry standards and expectations. Officially, my boss, Warren, asked me to join his agency back in 2020.

Q:Let’s say we travel back in time which fashion era would you like to be in and why?A: I can’t decide between the 60’s and the 80’s. Both of those eras (I feel) best suit my personality and aesthetic.

Q:What  type of modeling are you into?A:I’d say I have a mixed type, but I believe fashion best suits my category.

Q:Why is it important for a model to build a positive relationship with their photographer?A:Being a photographer myself as well, I understand how uncomfortable it can be at times when shooting with a stranger. I focus on creating a friendship with my client first and foremost before we start working because I know that stress and feeling uncomfortable can hinder workflow and communication.

MY 2022 VISION IS BEING A HISTORY MAKER

MY 2022 VISION IS BEING A HISTORY MAKER

Q:We are already in 2022,how has the year been for you?

A:The year has been very interesting, it was quiet a dramatic shift for me interms of work and energy. I feel more energized and optimistic about this year, its the biggest moment of my life.

Q:Part of your journey is attending a pageant in India, can you share with us how prepared are you?
A:I am super excited about my journey to India. I have been doing a lot of research and I think my work this year is promising. My work has always been in education but what I am also interested in is digital access. If I win, I will use my title to assist communities get access to wifi so that young children will be able to use the internet to learn and grow.

Q:What role or significant will the winning play in your life?
A:This year promises to be an exciting year and I have seen my support grow within these two years. This title will be life changing and would grant me the opportunity to have a global influence. My global influence will be able to uplift many minority countries and develop in our ever changing digital climate. Part of my biggest reason to advocate for digital technology is so that we can save the environment and contribute significantly to the global climate crisis.

Q: Majority of models in Africa are facing sponsorship problems how are you dealing with that issue in South Africa ?
A:Its been really tough because of job losses, covid and the restructuring of many different policies. I am dealing with it as it comes meaning I have made partnerships with global stakeholders for the sake of giving back to my community. For example, I continue to apply for funding so that I can host my own festivals, pageants and workshops that will promote young people. This is made possible with efforts from my company Kollectice Africa which seeks to provide support in creative entrepreneurship across the world.

Q:You have told us what it means when you win the title to you but what about South Africa ,what will it mean
A:My country is fighting many struggles amidst the pandemic, we are also dealing with racism and the abuse of political power. Our task therefore is to manage our public and private sector in a more with a more progressive and an equalized approach. Part of the reason why poverty is still a problem in our lives is people don’t have jobs, don’t create their jobs and also are not taught how to be self dependent individuals working together in a collective environment. This is a bigger topic you might notice, so I will be quiet now. Hahahaha

Q:You have a tour that you are to conduct tell us more about the tour?
A:This year is a year of touring, collaboration and creation. I am interested in working with many different creative arts organizations from around the world, starting in Africa. I am travelling Africa and parts of Europe and America as part of growing Kollective Afrika but also to see, research and involve myself with many different creative organizations around the globe.

Q:From this pageant which other international title are you eyeing?
A:I have been watching Mr Body Beautiful (SA) and I think it will be a great way to continue my work of community development. My ultimate goal is to enter Mr WORLD and Mr UNIVERSE.

Q:Speaking about plans you are prominently known for taking part in reality shows. If given a chance would you have taken part in Big brother South Africa?A:Being on Temptation Island was a great plug, hahahaha, I couldn’t enter the show Big brother because I am contracted onto another show. I am looking to enter Bachelor SA 2022 or feature in other reality shows because I am still looking for love Fam!

Q:Anywords to South Africa.
A:We are making it, all of us, from Africa to Europe to America to the Middle East. Every single we are reminding how powerful and resilient we are and we continue with thumping hearts not knowing where to from here, but we move forward and never look back.

MEET THE MODEL Aka KING OF HEARTS WHO WON THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE

MEET THE MODEL Aka KING OF HEARTS WHO WON THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE

People’s Choice title is one of the biggest titles’ that is awarded to any model during any pageant. Due to that the public would have been the one that made a decision to select you as their King or Queen.
Towanda Majachani was coronated as,Mister Zimbabwe 2022 , People’s Choice. He won the hearts of many voters and fans of the pageant as he won with a huge margin no wonder he deserves to be called ,’The King Of Hearts’.

Q:In a summary who is Towanda ?
A:My name Towanda Majachani, I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, am a young man currently studying a Bachelors of Commerce Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management with the Midlands State University in my 4th year now.

Q:What factors pushed or pulled you to be in the modeling industry ?
A:. I don’t think there was a particular pull or push factor that I can identify, rather its more of people who inspired me and my growth as an individual. However what I can say is growing up I had a lot of body shaming problems and then I grew up and accepted and grew in my skin, I guess that manifested itself into modelling, so there was more of a need to prove to myself so I guess that was my push and pull factor.

Q:You are well known as one of Zimbabwe’s best photogenic models in Zimbabwe and also you are a commercial model. What do you love about your passion ?
A: I love that I give creative value to peoples products, having the room and space to create art for people, that is the best feeling in the world.

Q:What are the two misconceptions the public has about modeling ?
A:People think models are vain and people think models are gigolos. People don’t take modelling seriously, its a misunderstood expression of art.

Q:What are some of the challenges that you faced when you were competing for the Mister Zimbabwe title?
A:It was a big change actually, I had to sacrifice a lot of time to the pageant and it was expensive both financially and timewise, because between school, work and family I barely have time for modelling these days.
The Mr Zimbabwe was important pageant to me and I Ioved every moment of it.

Q: Unfortunately you didn’t win the title but you won the hearts of many as you were the most voted model ,what did it mean to you ?
A:Wow what a moment it was, I’m more than grateful for the people that showed their support.
The title itself means a lot because I’m the People’s Choice and this means I won the hearts of the Public that’s the best title one could win.

Q:Which brands in the brand are you aiming to work with ?
A:Brand wise I’m still figuring it out on my next path, but my top agenda is on charity work.
I think we need to do more, as the youth, to advocate more, talk more , sing more about issues that are affecting us as young people.
That is something I’m really focusing on this year.

Q:Any fashion designers that you hope they dress you one day for red Carpert ?
A:Ishmael Tsakatsa and Tapfumanei Munenge those are my top favourite designers. They are really talented and they are part of number one designers in the continent .

Q:What is your favourite modeling experience ?
A:My first shoot for NHD, one of favorite modelling experience hands down.

Q:Any international pageant that you planning to be part of in the future ?
A:. I think I’m done with pageants, i don’t really see myself competing again. But never say never, things might not go as originally planned, and my door is always open to new possibilities and opportunities.

Thank you for your time
