A:My brand first came around on 2018 but before that at young age I always seemed to be interested in fashion and had interesting point of views when it came to fashion and style eventually that grew up to be a passion for later on led to the coming of my brand ‘Africantouch‘ Fashion brand.

Q:Why the name African Touch ?
A:I came up with the name ‘Africantouch‘ because in a world where the concept of identity keeps rising rapidly it is better for Africa to have it’s own identity especially in the fashion industry .
I realise that what people wear is what represent them and what they stand for to the world

Q:As a designer how has the Covid-19 Pandemic affected your brand ?
A:Covid didn’t really had an effect on my brand locally because in our country we didn’t have lockdown rather it sky rocketed my brand awesomeness since majority of the people spent more time on line that led them to come across my brand social Media pages .I would say that covid 19 had a positive impact on my brand

A: I learnt that as a design and a brand in general it is absolutely crucial to establish an online presence.

Q:Why is it important for you as a designer to exhibit your work at Swahili fashion Week ?
A:Swahili fashion week is one of the top three biggest fashion platforms in africa and this would give me massive exposure and credibility for my brand and as a designer because I will get to meet the fashion industry finest and learn from them andaldo get inspired but also this will open new market opportunities for my brand and build up connections for my brand.

A:We are at the point where the fashion industry in our country is starting to pick up pace on it’s growth margin in terms of support and awareness .

Models from across the country, provinces and different backgrounds are permitted to take part in the auditions, however the targeted an age is 18-33 years.

Mercy Mushaninga who is among the organisers of Mr Zimbabwe pageant, informed that despite one deriving from rural areas or urban areas they won’t be stopped to showcase their talent due to geographical locations.

Previously many have had thoughts that the pageant is only limited to those coming from bigger cities such as Harare,Bulawayo and Gweru.

Mercy Mushaninga also added, that when applying models should send along their pictures;portifolio,Z Cards.

She however encouraged models to understand the purpose of a Z Card.

A Z Card is like a CV and you can’t have a Z Card when you are not trained as a model .
