Meet award winning model, Future Nyoni who made history last year during Zimbabwe Models Awards when he became the first Zim model residing in Victoria Falls to win :Most Photogenic and Best Runway gongs during ZMAs.

I consider Winning the Zimmodels 2020 Awards as one of my milestones to a brighter modeling career.

It also came as a challenge for me to up my game and win more awards.

I have also discovered that there are quite a number of youngsters out there whom I inspire and as a result I now take time to mentor and groom them into fulfilling their dreams.

Being a winner has put me into a leadership kind of position, and as a leader it’s my morale responsibility to lead by example and hence I and my colleagues( Beauty Galaxy Org) have embarked onto charity projects to help those in need in and around Victoria Falls.

Celebrating 15 years continues to honour the Best dressed person of the year.

This year someone is going to be named ‘Best and Most Styled person of the year. The award will be handed over on the 16th of October 2021at the Mall of Africa. In attendance of the event that is meant to recognise the most stylish person of the year are individuals and most influential people.

The organisers of the event had given the public an opportunity to nominate who they believe should be the stylist of the year.One has to send the name of the person and also sending a hashtag :#QDBD2021 and enter the name of the person to be awarded Best Dressed .A shortlist of 10 people was selected .

Who has the right to win the award? “It’s all about personal style and how it’s a part of your everyday life not only for one event or one moment but for someone who lives with style. “We are looking for people who didn’t let the pandemic kill the style,”GQ editor In Chief ( Kumona ).The winner will be named on the 16th of October .

Under the name,’Nyoka’ ,Rich Mnisi presents his solo exhibition of limited edition sculptural furniture at Southern Guild Gallery.Naming his furniture exhibition ‘Nyoka’.

Mnisi tells of a young South African who was born after the apartheid era,however she/he is still facing challenges in his or her life. Nyoka,wrestles with the dueling forces to fear and pleasure ,fright and freedom felt so keenly by this cohort ,but that are also innate to the human experience .

This started with a nightmare .That Rich Mnisi’s mother had,as she dreamt a snake on her back .When she turned to look at it ,she saw an intense green creature, frightening ,fluid dangerous and beautiful. My journey started here and led me to Congo’s Bushongo mythology and it’s creator god Bumba,the god of vomit .

“He vomited up the sun,Earth,Moon and stars and the rest of the natural world from that acidic pain and discomfort unlike most of our world ,origins stories ,this one proposed that the beauty and life of our world could be purged instead of birthed ,…”Rich MnisiThe exhibition runs from 2nd of October to the 4th of February next year ..

Multi-Award winning model,Ben Chest is set to break the record as he becomes a three time,Roil Bulawayo Arts Award winner.
Currently only two male models have won the award consecutive, Ben Chest and Shadel Noble.
Bernard Ndlovu aka Ben Chest was part of this year’s RoilBaazw nominees under Outstanding model.

Last year during Zimbabwe Models Awards he won the following awards:

• Mr Ndlovu has casted in several music videos, mainly such as Sadza Nemuriwo ,kuteera by Military Touch leader JP and Tammy Moyo respectively.
• This year Ben participated in pageants that include Mister Continental Africa and Mister Glam International (he won Best Vogue and Elegance Awards).

The title Mister Zimbabwe is one of the few,titles bestowed to any male model in Zimbabwe . Who would have partaken at the Mister Zimbabwe pageant . For the past years,only 5 models have managed to be coronoted as ,title holders:Rish Verma,Shadel Noble,Byron Mulinga ,Devson Luzane and Adonis Ncube.

Previously the title was awarded to the model who will be having more votes,during the People’s Choice competition at Zimbabwe Models Awards. However not everyone was happy about the automatically selection of Mister Zimbabwe via the Zimbabwe Models Awards. Hence the organisers for the first time after three years of using the People’s Choice selection,they official introduced Mr Zimbabwe to be conducted in a physical pageantry .

The first-ever coronation of Mr Zimbabwe was bestowed to Rish Verma.During his term as Mister Zimbabwe,Rish Verma managed to work with his community by donating food and clothes in charity homes.Rish Verma is well known for casting in a numerous :Hollywood ,Zollywood and Bollywood movies and has won several awards during Zimbabwe Models Awards.The first-ever Mister Zimbabwe has rubbed shoulders with prominent film producers and actors.

Shadel Noble took over the reigns from Rish Verma.Noble who is prominently known as the King of runway, during term,he continued with the duties of Mr Zimbabwe which is to work with less privileged .One of his prominent project was inviting children from homes to watch fashion shows by paying for them VIP seats . He also contributed in giving out to the society . Currently Noble is the only,male model in Zimbabwe who has been coronoted as Mister Zimbabwe and catwalked in International runway shows.Such as SA Mens Wear Week , in addition he has been awarded awards in his hometown Bulawayo (Bulawayo Arts Awards ) and in Zambia.Currently Noble participated at Mister Globe and he won Mr Globe Africa title and has been donating at King George IV school and has launched his person project titled,’Boy Child Project’.

Multi -talented artist, Byron Mulinga was later the following year awarded the People’s Choice winner. Automatically making him, the next Mister Zimbabwe taking over from Noble.Mulinga who has been successful awarded for his talent in the gospel music industry .Spent some of his time with his community by visiting homes in his home area in Harare as he Just like his predecessors,Mulinga has won awards in different ceremonies for his modeling career and music. Also he has been trending on social media platforms,as he inspires young enterprenuers to be proud of their work especially self employed . He (Byron) is the owner of ‘Bibo Creations’.

2020 history was made in the modeling industry,audiances where given an opportunity to watch the participants for the Mister Zimbabwe title, battling out for the throne.Devson Luzane was crowned Mister Zimbabwe,making him the first title holder to win via physical pageantry.He also became the first male model in the contest to hold two titles at the same time as he was appointed ,Mister Zimbabwe Africa International before he had participated at Mister Zimbabwe.Luzane worked with other models, in disturbing hampers and other food parcels in homes both old people’s homes and children in Bulawayo and Harare. He is an ambassador for several brands. During Mister Africa International pageant, he won the third runner title (Brand Ambassador and Best Friendly Awards).He made history by becoming the first Zimbabwe model to be in the top 4 of the pageant.He has also been advocating against child marriages.

Luzane handed over his title to Adonis Ncube who is prominently known as The Duke.The Duke became the first model from Matabeleland South town the title, just like his predecessor he won the pageant during a physical event which was held in Harare.Adonis received the title, at a difficult time when the country has been battling the Covid-19 pandemic.Hence he hasn’t managed to take in much community works, however he has reached in some activities as he became guest of events giving a word of encouragement to audiances.In addition he has appeared in several billboards including International brands such as Econet and Edgars.He hopes to reach out to other communities before he passes the torch to the next candidate .The Duke has been an award winner since ,Zimbabwe models Awards we’re introduced in Zimbabwe.
