Djodjo Bomassa is one of the talented models in Nambia.His dominating the world of runway Fashion shows.In an interview we get an insight about him and his experience as a model during, WINDHOEK Fashion Week. He also painted a picture of his future

Q. Briefly can you tell us about yourself?
A.My name is Djodjo Israel Bomassa, born in Congo, made in Namibia, i am 23 years old, I’ve to different personally one is Israel and the another Djodjo, Israel is passianant about football Djodjo loves modelling, just to speak about boldy about Djodjo, Djodjo is hardworking, driven and never accepts defeat, Djodjod goes until at the end

Q. You are from Congo but you reside in Namibia,what makes the two cultures come together and how do you manage to bring your two roots in the modeling industry?
A.As i said eaelier born in Congo but made in Namibia, almost my whole life I’ve lived in Namibia, Namibia has made me, i sell myself out there as a Namibian but not also forget where i come from, I’ll love the western world to know all that DRC has to offer in the modelling industry

Q. Recently you became the face of MN creations’s underwear collection. What did it mean to you to work with such a unique brand?
A.Working with MN meant so much for me,  it was a dream come true, it’s was a great privilege, MN aligns with my brand and i was truly humble to be given the opportunity to

Q.Speaking about brands this year you catwalked at Windhoek fashion week, whose brand did you wore through out the ramp?
A.Windhoek fashion week was so big this year, i catwalked for more than 5 designers and all their outfits were so beautiful, each and everyone of them brought the best in me

Q. Do you believe that Africa’s modeling sector has a lot to catch up in terms of international standards?
A.Yes we are to catch up, especially in the Southern part of Africa, many a times we see models from the Western part of Africa grace the runaway for major brands like Gucci, Dior and so many more, but i believe we’ll get there it’s Just a matter of time, hard work and dedication from us.

Q.what always comes to your mind when you are infront of a camera?
A:Infront of the camera i always want to give it my maximum best knowing that the world is watching me, on the runway its even world, best as a professional model you have to own the runway

Q.Given an opportunity to catwalk at London fashion week which two brands wuld you work week?
A.My dream is always to grace my talent in paris and Milan fashion week, but in london i would love to work for Victoria Beckham and Burberry

Q.What makes you different from other  model?
A.I am the defination is art, me and my work as art is yet to be seen in the world, soon the whole world will know about me

In a search for  a powerful name for their brands,the Producers of Mr Ideal Abuja were looking for a strong name that will match with the already existing male pageant brands in Abuja, the name ‘Mr Ideal Nigeria’ brand was then founded by the Director Of House Of Buchi, Buchi Nwabufoh.

The major purpose of the pageant  is to profile Abuja’s sexiest men, who will play a major role in  give back to the society which is generally the main essence of every pageant. 

Previous Kings who have emerged under this platform as winners have done notable pet projects, one of the prominent ones is the 2020 winner , Divine Uchew impacted Students of various college through his “Back To School Project” & School Tour Project”.Education is one of the important sectors in Africa.

“Being the winner automatically turns one into one of the most sought after by brands who want to be represented. I would say this seems like the easiest way to break into the market.,”said the organisers.

Winners have also succesfuk managed to create their own brands,the maiden edition winner, Divine after handing over to the next king has gone on to launch his clothing line Dinlex. While the reigning King, Henry is looking embracing opportunities the pageant opened up for him

Aguinaldo Ngulana is a Humanitarian activist and Mister Africa International runner up.He is popularly known as a Humanitarian activist and reaching out to his community.In an exclusive interview,He outlines his Christmas outreach plans .

Q.How was your experience  taking part at Mister Africa International? A.My experience at Mister Africa International, was good after we shared several cultural ties between candidates from different countries, this shows that the Mister Africa committee values our cultural identities, and the theme of this edition was ‘African Kings’.

Q.Where did you get time for preparing for the event as you had just finished participating at Mister Angola?A.The distance between the Mister Angola contest and the Mister Africa contest were not too far apart, after one took place in October and the other in November, there was only 30 days between the two, but it was enough time for me to prepare myself, because I thought that the best preparation I should have was psychological and emotional preparation, without that I wouldn’t be ready for the contest.

Q.With the two ceremonies what were the major differences, that you spotted?A.Clearly there were some differences, because each contest has its own reality, Mister Angola is a contest with a large dimension, but it is obvious that the Mister Africa contest demands more from us as competitors because it is an international contest on the continent, the levels of organization were not very far from each other, but I managed to feel that first I was in a national competition in Mister Angola, and in Mister Africa I was really an international competition, due to the grandeur of the Committee and also the theme itself of edition 10.

Q.During,Mister Africa you were nominated in two categories, Model of Africa and Beach Body what did it mean to you having to be nominated in those two categories?A.This means that I really have some potential and that it was recognized by the professionals who evaluated the contest, I confess that I was very happy, knowing that I was nominated in two categories and finally one of them I won.But in the category that I wasn’t the Winner, I know that the person who was the lucky winner was deserving after I saw the potential that each one had, and I shouldn’t take credit from anyone.

Q.what was the greatest lesson you learnt from the other models?A.During the period of confinement in the hotel with the other candidates, I learned a lot with each one of them without exception, but mainly the actul Mister Africa after he shared the room with me, and showed me his sympathy and humility of the people of Costa do Ivory, and also of course the candidate from Mozambique who was always in good spirits, showing himself to be available and his friendship for all of us and briefly saying that I learned that in life we must always be humble.

Q.You are well known for working  with your community, Christmas  is around the corner any programmes you have prepared?A.For this Christmas I will work in two different cities, I will have a solidarity Christmas in the city of Lubango – Angola on the 16th and a solidarity Christmas in the City of Menongue- Angola on the 18th

South African based model,John Sithembiso Reed, from Mpumalanga outshined during Mpumalanga Design Week as he catwalked for a number of local and international brand.

John said,he is grateful for the opportunity that he along with other models were given to showcase their talent,during the Mpumalanga Design Week which was hosted last month.

Among the brands that he wore, was the Afrophoenix which is being headed by Zimbabwean designer, Blessing.

“The experience to participate at Mpumalanga Design Week,it gave me an opportunity to meet different people from different works of lives.It was also an opportunity for me to connect with other models and learn somethings about the industry. we

“The more you explore to people the more you grow,”he said.

John further informed,that taking part as a model it becomes an added advantage to him especially into his acting career.

The 26 year old and multi-talented model,has featured in South Africa’s popular education daily film, ‘Skeem Sami’ and other dramas .

He believes that since the day,he participated in the show he has gained more knowledge and confidence within the arts industry.

He praised the designers ,whose brand he catwalked for during the event.
John stated out that his into semi-formal wear however during the show he had an opportunity of wearing a suit which gave him a second feeling about the positive side of wearing a suit.

He also said, his dream is to work with international brands such as:Tom Ford,Icoin Agency,Addidas among others.

Outgoing Mister Ideal Abuja, Henry will be handing over his title to the new King.His wise words to the aspiring candidates was ‘to fear no more and believe in themselves’.Henry further told us about his future in the modeling industry.

Q. How has your journey been since you won the title Mister Ideal Abuja?A. It’s been nothing short of amazing, the good and the bad times all made the experiences worth it (laughs) 

Q.To those who dont know what is the role of Mister Ideal Abuja can you explain ?A.The title Mr Ideal Abuja goes beyond  being a fine boy with a killer body, once that title comes to You, you are expected to be a role model especially to the youth. Using the crown to give back to the society in your own little way.

Q. How did you manage to fufill all your duties during your term?A. can say it’s with the help of God Almighty and few people who believed in me and also had work.

Q. Can you tell what makes Abuja a unique state in Nigeria ? A. It’s the Nation’s Capital, that alone already makes Abuja outstanding, Abuja is blessed with lot of beautiful mountains and tourist attractions. It looks like coming together of all the ethnic groups in Nigeria, there’s no tribe You won’t find in Abuja.

Q.You are into working out why is it important to you as a model?A:I think it’s what I embraced, I love working out and it looks like it opened opportunities for me.

Q. Do you recommend that every model must be involved into working out?A. No, like I said earlier, I choose to embrace that because that’s what I like, I would advice that every model should figure out what works for them, what makes them unique and nurture it. So I will recommend that everybody, not just models to get involved in working out.

Q. How will the people of Abuja remember your legacy ?A.Legacies are in the mind of the people, I wish the people are here to answer this because they are the ones to provide the perfect answers, I believe with the help of God that I laid down good legacies. 

Q. Any advise to the aspiring candidates?A. I want them to know that it’s not a do or die affair, but they should put in their best I mean their very best to achieve the reason why they opted in the competition in first place.

Q.Any international titles you aspire to contest for ?A. Oh yes, by the special grace of God I have been appointed to be the first Nigeria representative at the Mr Glocal International happening February 2023 In Indonesia. I can’t wait to make my country Nigeria proud

On the 17th of December, Legendary model and business entrepreneur Miyako Lee Banda was announced as the Host of the event.

Miya is not a newbie in the world of hosting, extra ordinary glamorous events. He has been the MC for fashion events such as ,Harare Fashion Week which was founded by Munyaradzi.In addition with his vast knowledge within modeling industry,one can agree that Miya is the right man for the job.

Romao Charles ,from Mozambique participated at Mister Africa International.He shares to us his experience and thoughts .About the show,in addition we learn why it was important for him to take part in the competition and win the Beach body award.

Q:Describe yourself in two words?
A:Powerful minded

Q: What inspired you to take part at Mister Africa International 2022?
A:Show my value as a person to all Africa.

Q:You won the title Body of Africa,why was the medal important to you?
A:Because I trained so hard and I’ve always myself managed myself,to be healthy and aesthetic .

Q:How do you manage to keep your body in shape?
A:Dieting, running 3x a week, working out and sleeping well

Q:Why is it important for one to keep his body in shape and healthy?
A:Because it’s important to have a high quality life, so we don’t get sick easily, be always energetic, work hard, have a healthy brain and so on

Q:Becoming the first Mozambiquean model to take part in the event,how will it change the modeling Industry of your country?
A:Unfortunately, I didn’t reach the top 5, but if I did, I’d help to create a Mister Mozambique Comite so the models can go viral in the Africa, the world and show all potential this country have.

Q:As Mister Africa International Mozambique  5 which tourism areas would you advise one to visit in your country ?
A:Tofo Beach, Bazaruto Island, Ilha de Moçambique, Chocas Mar and Vilankulos

Q:What is next for you ?
A:Next for me is Mozambique Fashion Week.
