DISCIPLINE AND PERSEVERANCE PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN MODELLING

Q.Who is Zibusiso?A. Zibusiso is a 19 year old dude who has always been interested in standing out in what he is. Obtained his primary school education at Mzilikazi Primary School and then to Sobukhazi High, he has always found something to be recognized with wherever he went. He’s a goal driven type of person straight out of Nguboyenja one of the oldest places in the whole of Bulawayo. Behind all this seriousness is a fun and full of humor kind of person who enjoys going out, traveling and socializing.

Q.Where has modelling taken you since you emerged in the industry?A.Modeling has put me at a place where my voice is amplified and I stand as an example even to my community, that modeling is also a career and men do model too .As i stand, I am the current Mr Truth 1st runner up and Mr Bulawayo 2nd runner up. That alone has opened some doors for me and has contributed in me getting noticed by some of the greatest people in the industry even outside the country.

Q.Do you believe that looks and being muscular plays a major role in modelling?A. Though that might play a major role in the industry, discipline and perseverance also play a huge part. At the end of the day what’s muscularity without discipline.

Q.what makes you unique from other models?A. What makes me unique is that firstly, i know what i want and secondly when i want something i make sure to make a way and strive to get that thing. Laslty style is what i posses and beauty also (giggles)

Q.Why did you signed with Truth Models Agency and what have you benefit from the agency?A.I can’t say I choose Truth Models Agency.I somehow found my feet at their doors and so far its a great agency where i am getting everything I need to get where i want to be.

Q.In your province whom are some of the models you look up to?A.I look upto Darlington Tshuma, Leanet C Mupungu and my coach, Khaya-elihle Pardon Khanye.

Q.What is up for future?A. What’s to expect in the future, more wins, more titles nationally and internationally

MEET MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST POGWANE JULIUS TSEBE

From modelling,to directing in Theater and being a business enteprenuer it keeps one busy.However the most common denominator in all these sectors is to work hard and rest.We interact with South African,multi talented artist,Pogwane Julius on how he manages his diary and how the society has supported him especially in terms of modelling underwear sector.

Q.Can you introduce yourself and give us a briefly background  of your bio?A.My name is Pogwane Julius Tsebe.I possess a degree in Transportation/logistics management.I’ve been doing a lot of sports wear as a model for skipper bar as well as Hector’s underwear modelling. I recently been in production for TV and Film as part of SHAKA ilembe which is coming out this year. Besides this I have been assisting with International work for dance festivals .

Q.When did it struck you that modelling is part of your life and career?A.Just after high school, I think it was mid 2016 when I fell in love with modelling and found it very fascinating. I found that it was interesting to be infront of the camera to tell a story. 

Q.Who or what is your inspiration in the modelling industry?A.I am inspired by Kwanele Finch Thusi because he is very driven and he is very good at his craft. I didn’t know that South African Models can actually make it in the international scene before I met Finch.

Q. What do you love about your modelling journey?A.Traveling has been a good experience in the industry and I have developed confidence in my modelling by being in shoots with different photographers. It also boost your confidence and I love it. 

Q.Do you believe working out is one of the main advantages of modelling especially  in this era?A.Yes, modelling inspires people to be the best version of themselves and yes, having a great body makes good impression and working out is one of the things that attracts peoples attention and interest 

Q.You are both a photogenic and a underwear model.In Africa not everyone has accepted  the underwear modelling industry.Is your own community (friends and family) supporting  your career?A.100%,yes they do support me which is not usually especially  in our African society to receive such support. I am grateful . 

Q.Aside from modelling you have toured across Europe can you tell us more about the tour?A.I was involved in a theatre production for Afrovibes Festival on which I toured the whole of Europe. Besides modelling, I am interested in doing work behind the scenes and I worked as a project director in Europe.

Q.Last year what was your finest greatest  moment during your journey?A.Europe was a great experience and I was overwhelmed by the level of professionalism and service that I received there. I was able to receive lots of work opportunities because I was in Europe and this elevated my career. 

Q.Back to your modelling career, what are major expectations  of the year 2023?A.This year I hope to get into alot of TV shows and run the catwalk. I have entered Mr Africa SA and this is a great opportunity to sharpen my skills as a model and mentor. I want my company to also grow and help alot of people, its called Nqobo Tsebe Arts Academy, and I am looking forward to traveling more.

Q.When not infront of the camera,modelling or working out what will you be up to ?A.I  focus on growing my company since its a major part of my life, I wish to also partner with skincare organizations because I am interested in educating other people about looking after themselves .

‘ITS AS IF I AM DREAMING ‘

As the year 2022 ended and usherd a new year 2023, many are still hoping to achieve their dreams.
To Sasha Donovan, Zimbabwean freelance model his year began in a positive path as he won the title,Mister Exceptional 2022 on the 24th of December 2022.

Which meant that he has received a new title for himself,King Sasha Donovan.

Sasha stated out ,that despite working hard during the competition’s preliminaries.He wasn’t expecting to emerge as the King of the pageant.

“Honestly I didn’t think I will make it because I felt like,I had put less effort in it ,as the pageant deserved more of my time but to my amazement I was crowned King,”said Sasha.

During the preliminaries competition his costume which was inspired by the Ndebele culture,was selected as the Best Costume of the pageant.

The newly crowned,Mister Exceptional said his looking forward in working hand in hand with different international brands and regional .

When questioned about his preference between commercial and pageant.He response was, he favours commercial modelling ,although he is able to accommodate both sectors of modelling industry.

Turning the page into his football career, Sasha informed out that he is no longer a full time footballer as he spents most of his time in his new job and he furtherly added that Covid 19 pandemic played a role for him to partially abandon his career.

At the age of 24,already Casper Munatswa, has made a name for himself in the modelling industry,not just local but also international.As he participated during Mister Globe Zimbabwe,a search which was established to select Zimbabwe’s delegate.Despite not winning the main title he was coronated as the provincial King .During our conversation he tells about his future and why he is scouted by Fervid agency.

Q. Casper thank you  for your moment,can you  describe yourself in three words ?A.Energetic, friendly  and Kind .

Q.Why did you ventured into modelling and how has your journey been ?A.I’m into fashion alot that’s why l ventured into a modelling and I have been enjoying my adventure  at the sametime its been hard because of financial problems.

Q.You are scouted under Fervid Agency, what were the pull factors that attracted you in joining the agency?A.l was inspired by Jemima since 2015 hence l asked my sister to help me join modelling and to be in an agency where they is my role model Jemima. 

Q.Last year you participated during Mister Globe Zim,what did you learnt about yourself during your journey?A.I learnt that I am a good model, l can make it to be the king of the country if l pull up my socks because l made it to be Mr super Globe Bulawayo 2022 and I wasn’t expecting that as I went there for gaining  experience.   

Q. What is your main goal in the modelling industry?A.Is to win at least 2 international pageant and have experience to open my own agency and to build my own brand.

Q Given any opportunity totake part in any pageanty international which one would you choose and why?A. I will choose Mr Super Globe because so far so good it is the only national pageant l have attended and l believe that l have confidence and  experience in it.

Q.Do you think Zimbabwean parents have accepted modelling as a career?A.Not really because some of parents still don’t allow their children to go for Boot Camps and evening competitions.

Q.What are the major challenges that male models in your city face ?A.In my city male models are facing big challenges among them include the questioning of one’s sexuality  as soon as they step into the industry.

Q.Finally are you a day or night person?A.I am a day person.

Mister International team announced the appointment of their new vice President Rodolfo Antonio Santana Ortega from Dominican Republic.

He took over the office from the 9th of January this year.
Mister International organisers described Anthony as a dedicated and a hard working person .

“Rodolfo has been a dedicated member of the Mister International organisation since as Dominic Republican candidate (2012) and over expanding his responsibility as National Director,”they said.

Among Anthony’s responsibility is to be in charge of licensing American dirtectors.

MODELS TO BE RECOGNISED AT THE 1ST EDITION OF TSHWANE MODELS AWARDS

“We came up with the Tshwane Models Awards to appreciate and honour people that actually make a change in the modelling Industry,”said Asan Mahlangu.

In an interview with,the brain child behind the Tshwane Models Awards,Asan Mahlangu.He reveiled that the awards were erected to honour,and appreciate the role that was and is still being played by the region’s models.

“The awards signifies how much we hold in high regards people’s talents and also value their importance in whatever they put their body,mind and soull into,”he said.

He further said, the awards ceremony will boost models’ confidence and will encourage them to excell in their work.

Since the awards nominations was opened to the public, according to Mister Mahlangu they have received more than thousand nominations from the public which he described it as a positive sign .

Mahlangu said, the finals of the nomination will be announced next month.

He however,defended the use of internet as the nomination system siting that the method will attract youths to take part in decision making.

PITTI UOMO 103 WELCOMES FASHIONISTAS AT FLORENCE /FIRENZE

PITTI UOMO 103 is the talk on everyone in the fashion industry’s mouth. With only a few hours left for Italy to host one of the biggest fashion gatherings in the world.

Fashion players started to land in Florence in Italy starting from last year,to attend the show.It won’t be a regular event as fashion players will get the moment to share conversations about fashion.Pitti Uomo is simply terms is Pittimen.

Its one of the world’s most important platforms for launching new projects in men’s fashion and is held twice a year in Florence at the Flotezza de Basso,with the first ever edition being held in 1972.

This year the event starts from the 10th and it’s curtains come down on the 13th of January.

This January a winter trade Fair that blends . Some of the highlights of this year’s event are the MACJEANS who will debut at Pitti Uomo from Germany.Rodd and Gunn NewZealand will highlight their new collection.Other brands that are expected to highlight their products are Mey Story,Quartz,Edward Green
