Tafadzwa Sean Muzeya, a seasoned model, reflects on his experience at Zimbabwe Fashion Week.

“I had an overwhelmingly marvelous and memorable time at ZFW,” Tafadzwa says. “We had fun, expanded our networks, and learned from different cultures.” This year’s edition saw a growing number of models from different provinces in Zimbabwe, as well as regional representation from South Africa and Mozambique.

Tafadzwa walked for several local and foreign designers, including Hilz Couture, Kidd Hunta, Seguru, GLC Exclusive, House of Queen Bee, Urban Zulu, Afro Jumbo, Costavina, and Terry Tobani. He praises the ZFW team, particularly Show Director & Producer Andiswa Manxiwa, Lisa Manxiwa, and Cindy-Lee Joseph, for their dedication and professionalism.

As a seasoned model, Tafadzwa advises aspiring models to focus on their mental strength, professionalism, and etiquette. He shares his strategy for getting gigs: prayer and networking. “God is the author of my life, and I allow Him to navigate it,” he says.

Tafadzwa balances commercial and runway modeling, managing his time and prioritizing bookings. His greatest moment on the ramp was during ZimFashionWeek, where he wore four designers’ outfits back-to-back.

Looking ahead, Tafadzwa hopes to participate in Accra Fashion Week in Ghana, representing Zimbabwe internationally. He aims to inspire others and showcase Zimbabwe’s talent.

“ZFW has played a big role in my growth as a model,” Tafadzwa says. “It has given me opportunities to work with different designers and creatives, improving my confidence and stage presence.”

Tafadzwa advises upcoming models to “be you, never try to compete with others, and always focus on improving yourself.” He emphasizes the importance of emotional intelligence and prayer in the industry.

Tafadzwa’s motto: “What’s meant for me will always come my way, if it doesn’t, it wasn’t my portion.”
