When Sandile Christo Gama was crowned Mister Mpumalanga 2025, he felt a mix of emotions – disbelief, gratitude, and pride. “When my name was called, it felt like time stood still. It was a mix of disbelief, gratitude, and pride,” he says. “This title is not just a crown — it’s a responsibility, a platform, and a symbol of hope for every young man who dares to dream in Mpumalanga.”

As a strong advocate for fitness and mental health awareness, Sandile plans to launch community fitness boot camps combined health workshops. “I plan to launch the ‘Mind & Muscle Movement’ — a project focused on combining mental wellness with physical fitness,” he explains. “The goal is to create safe spaces for young men to build physical strength and mental resilience — because true strength is a balance of both.”
Sandile’s passion for fitness is evident in his rigorous training routine, which includes strength training, cardio, and mindfulness practices. “I train five to six days a week, mixing strength training, cardio, and mindfulness practices,” he shares. “What keeps me motivated is knowing that my consistency can inspire others. I remind myself daily: my discipline is someone else’s motivation.”
As an aspiring entrepreneur and fitness instructor, Sandile emphasizes the importance of time management and purpose-driven action. “Time management and purpose-driven action are key,” he advises. “I set clear goals for each role I play and ensure they align with my core values. I also believe in building strong teams — no dream is achieved alone.”

Sandile’s authenticity, resilience, and relatability set him apart from other contestants. “Authenticity, resilience, and relatability,” he says. “I don’t pretend to be perfect — I represent the real challenges young men face, and I strive to be a living example of growth, vulnerability, and transformation.”
Sandile has faced his own challenges, including battling anxiety and self-doubt. “There was a time I battled silently with anxiety and self-doubt,” he shares. “It was through fitness, journaling, and opening up to a mentor that I started healing. That experience made me stronger and gave me a deeper understanding of mental health, which I now advocate for.”

Sandile’s plans for his reign as Mister Mpumalanga include mentoring young boys in rural areas. “I also plan to mentor young boys in rural areas, promoting education, confidence, and leadership,” he concludes. “I hope my legacy is one of inspiration, action, and impact — that I sparked something in others to believe in themselves, and to rise above.”
