“From Soshanguve to the Spotlight: Sandile Mashigo’s Quest for Mr. Tshwane Glory”
Sandile Mashigo is a determined and passionate individual who has set his sights on the Mr. Tshwane pageant. As a finalist for Mr. Tshwane Regions 2024, Sandile is ready to showcase his unique qualities and make a positive impact on his community.
“I’m inspired by the rich history and legacy of the kings and queens from Soshanguve who paved the way for me,” Sandile says. “Their resilience and determination motivate me to represent our community with pride. I’m also driven to use this platform to amplify the voices of the marginalized and create positive change in Tshwane.”

Sandile’s background and passion for fashion led him to pursue a career in modeling. “My name is Sandile Mashego, and I’m a first-time model from Soshanguve. With a love for fashion, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my passion,” he shares. “What makes me unique is my dedication to using my platform for social good, particularly advocating for Period Poverty awareness.”
Sandile’s role model is Bongumenzi Miya, Mr. Tshwane 2024 Ambassador. “His passion for advocacy and community service inspires me to stay focused on my goals and continue pushing for positive change,” he says.
According to Sandile, one of the most pressing issues facing young men in Tshwane is the prevalence of drug abuse. “As Mr. Tshwane, I’d address this by launching awareness campaigns, partnering with organizations to provide support services, and promoting education and mentorship programs,” he asserts.
Sandile is passionate about helping the girl child and advocating for Period Poverty awareness. “I believe every girl deserves access to education and resources, and I’m committed to using my platform to make a difference,” he says.

If crowned Mr. Tshwane, Sandile plans to use his platform to raise awareness about Period Poverty, promote education, and support initiatives that empower young people. “I’d also focus on addressing drug issues and unemployment in Soshanguve, partnering with organizations to provide resources and support,” he shares.
Sandile’s long-term goal is to become a leading advocate for social justice and community development. “The Mr. Tshwane title would provide a platform to amplify my voice, build partnerships, and drive meaningful change,” he says.
To balance his personal and professional life, Sandile prioritizes self-care, sets boundaries, and stays focused on his goals. “I’m also an avid reader, and books help me stay motivated and inspired,” he shares. “My advice would be to find your purpose, prioritize your well-being, and seek support when needed.”
What sets Sandile apart from other contestants is his passion for advocacy, his commitment to social justice, and his unique perspective on community issues. “I bring empathy, determination, and a willingness to listen and learn,” he says.
Sandile’s dream project is to implement a mentorship program for young men, focusing on skills development, career guidance, and personal growth. “I’d partner with organizations, engage with community leaders, and provide resources to make it a reality,” he shares. “This program would help young men build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their full potential.”
