A Call to Action on International Boy Child Day
As we celebrate International Boy Child Day, it’s essential to acknowledge the challenges faced by boys worldwide. Mister Southern Africa, Future Nyoni, shares his thoughts on this special day and the importance of creating a nurturing environment for boys to thrive.
Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and potential of our boys. It’s a day to recognize the unique challenges they face and work towards creating a supportive environment that allows them to grow into compassionate, innovative, and fearless leaders.
The war in DRC and Sudan has led to the recruitment of child soldiers, depriving them of their childhood and right to education. It’s heartbreaking to see boys as young as 10 years old forced to take up arms and witness atrocities.

We need to work towards ending the use of child soldiers and ensuring that all children, including boys, can access education and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. Every child deserves to go back to school, not to the battlefield.
By providing boys with access to education, mentorship, and support, we can help them develop into compassionate and responsible individuals who will shape a brighter future for all. As we celebrate the boy child today, let’s work together to create a world where every boy can thrive, free from the scourge of war and exploitation.
