Q.Congratulations in winning the title Misters of Zimbabwe, can you introduce yourself to our readers?
A.Thank you so much, to introduce myself. My name is Mzolisi Zibusiso Mtshayisa, a young man from the city of Kings and Queens, Bulawayo. Besides being an award winning model, I am a musician and photographer. I would describe myself as authentic and iconic, always pushing boundaries and inspiring others to chase their dreams. With an unwavering determination and relentless drive, I strive to leave a mark in this world and a legacy that inspires others to reach for greatness.

Q.How do you feel that you are the newly crowned King and what does it mean to you?
A.Firstly I feel so excited and honored to have all my hard work, determination noticed. And I cannot say I pulled it all off on my own, there are many people who worked so hard behind the scenes, for example my photographer @kpvisuals and all the others who voted on the voting platforms and above all, I am so grateful to the almighty. To what it means  to me being newly crowned runner up, it means so much more, it means taking on responsibilities, becoming a role model for other men in my community, both young and old and also stepping out of my comfort zone and being involved in doing stuff in my community.
Can you share with us the atmosphere that you experienced during the event at Beitbridge?
First of all, I loved my stay at Beitbridge, it really is a nice place. The atmosphere during the event was exciting and yet so thrilling because we were 6 alphas, all hungry for the crown, all hungry to do the best in representing their city. But in everything I learnt a lot from all of them and I say, cheers to future alliances.

Q. Was there any hint in you that you will win the title?
A.There was no hint at all, I really kept my fingers crossed throughout the whole event, praying for a miracle and it did happen.

Q.Now that you have won one might ask How will your community and country benefit from it?

Q.Now that you have won one might ask How will your community and country benefit from it?
A.Now that I have the misters of Zimbabwe title, its now a great platform to push the notion that has all along burned inside of me, the African boy child. This title will help me in bridging a gap that most don’t consider by working hand in hand in with the community in tackling this issue. We must strive to provide opportunities, guidance, and support to these young boys, in order to uplift their living standards and pave the way for a brighter future for our community, country and ultimately the world. We cannot ignore the fact that in our current society, the girl child is receiving much needed attention and support, while the boy child is often marginalized and neglected, this imbalance is creating a generation of disheartened, frustrated and angry young boys. It is time to align our mission with sustainable development goal number 5 – gender equality. we must work towards creating a society where both boys and girls are given equal opportunities, support, and resources to thrive and succeed. I believe together we can make a difference, together we can break down barriers, challenge stereotypes and create a more inclusive and equitable world for all.

Q.What or who inspires your day to day life?
A.My day to day life is inspired by the late Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana. Shes a south African singer, songwriter and guitarist. In all her life she gave it her all and in most times didn’t get nothing in return but my lesson in her story is that, we shouldn’t let go of our dreams because of anyone. We should live our life to the fullest, be the best version of yourself and not live in regret. Lastly, I believe Zahara could’ve done more, gave more music before her last breath thus making me want to do my very best in everything as long as I live and not deprive my community, my country, and the world of anything by giving up on the way.

Q.During the preliminaries  you won a number of awards in different categories what was your favorite category?
A.During the preliminaries, I got silver in high fashion, silver in swimwear and gold in beachwear. And my favorite was the beachwear, it really brought me out of my comfort zone and really boosted my confidence in preparation for the swimwear challenge. It brought out this other version of me that is very confident, more self aware and proud.

Q.who designed your suit and what inspired the design?
A.The designer of my suit for the event was none other than one of our own in the city of Kings, @HouzofTinashe. The inspiration was that in the midst of darkness, light persists, that’s why the shining stars at the shoulders and chest. And the purpose was for it to not just be subtle but to stand out and shine.

Q.Why do you think that you deserved the title?
A.With God all things are possible I assure you. As alphas right there we all gave our very best, from 42 contestants and going down to only 2, it wasn’t all a result of what I did on stage in Beitbridge but how I did in all the online challenges we were given. Beitbridge show was the finishing off of the competition which had started many weeks back. The hardwork I put in during the shoots, the outfits, the confidence and being well outspoken really pushed me through to the title.
