THE QUEEN OF TSHWANE IS ON A MISSION

The Queen of Tshwane is on a mission to represent not her province this time but her country in Philippines. In a conversation with her she opens up about her title, her latest projects with her community and also how she managed to be where she is today.

Q.Can you tell us about yourself briefly?A.My name is Jennifer Ntsako Gumbi a 20 year old who was born in Gauteng and raised in mpumalanga the province of the rising son, in a small township of Kwandebele. An open minded and self determined young being who believes in every young girls dream. I believe that anything is achievable if you invest enough in it.

Q.why is holding the title Miss Tshwane important to you?A.Holding this title is like holding up a beam of light so that not only I can see but also the people around me and indulge in the sweet warmth of the light I bring into their hearts.

Q.What inspired you to take part in the modelling industry and how has your life changed since then?A.I have grown in most aspects of my life from emotional growth, socially, mental and how to be a kind and loving human in this world. I have learned to rule as a queen with a tender palm and a soft fist as I lead.

Q.They say local pageants are not supported compared to national and international pageants how far true is this?A.Most definitely true local pageant are not supported compared to International pageant . I personally believe that they haven’t seen or figured the core purpose of local pageants and it’s impact on young females and males . It is a matter of them looking at the bigger picture without considering the foundation. National and international models started from the foundation phase which are local pageant and they are in international stages now because of all the teachings and growth from local pageants. My advise is that the department of arts and culture should focus more on building the foundation in the modeling industry and that could have a huge impact on aspiring models.

Q.what advise do you have to aspiring Miss Tshwane?A.The crown is heavy but never for a Queen. Reign with heart and wisdom, it is then you shall prosper.

Q.How has your journey been since you were crowned as Miss  Tshwane?A.My journey as Miss tshwane regions has been overwhelming since the crowing because it carries a lot of responsibility but I can say that it has been one of the best experiences because it comes with growth and knowledge, understanding and learning.

Q.Given an opportunity to be a leader in SA politics. How are you going to empower the girl child?A.Extracurricular subjects and activities will be introduced to schools teaching and empowering the girl child that they are not just beings that need to always submit and shy away from they spot light of leading the country. These subjects will also acknowledge the boy child not to undermine and overlook females as inferior in anyway but to see them as equally competitive beings.

Q.Any other title you are eyeing for?A.Tshwane Regions has had a huge impact when it comes to my modeling career, it has given me the opportunity to go internationally with my career. I am currently eyeing for my first international title which I am running for currently that will be held in the Philippines this coming July .
