SOWETO TO HOST ITS ANNUAL FASHION EVENT

Ready or not Soweto Fashion Week is back and is expected to kick off from the 3rd to the 6th of May 2023.
The annual fashion event draws designers from across the African continent,who get the opportunity to exhibit their products at one of Africa’s oldest townships,that is in Soweto.

The event was co_founded by Stephen Manzini and has been headlined by fashion brands who include:Ngugi Vere,Urban Zulu,Zamaswazi,Tapfumanei Coco etc.

Speaking with South African news publication,Joburg Newsroom, Stephen Manzini stated out that the main agenda of the show is to showcase the South African talent in Soweto and to allow designers to connect with people.

“Our passion is still consistent in showcasing top talent in the fashion industry . Soweto and South Africa are alive with creativity,with many designers are longing to growth market,and that is what we are all about,”said Stephen Manzini. (Source Joburg media )

The event is expexted to be attended by high profile guests from entertainment industry and those in political sector .

Previous events have been attended by ETV channel actors from different daily soaps such as Rhythm City and Scandal.
With some of the actors had the opportunity of walking across the ramp as models.

Since Soweto Fashion Week was established in 2021,many designers have had the opportunity to find their way within the Soweto community.

Johannesburg Tourism’s Laura Veraeueil also informed Joburg mediathat SFW is a signature that serve position of creating tourism as a fashion hub.

SFW is scheduled to be hosted at Soweto Theater.
