Q.Can you introduce yourself through tell us more about your bio?A. Top of the morning, Sir. My name is Brighton Yamiko Kafikako also known as Zaddy. I’m 24 and i reside in Manyame Park, Chitungwiza. I am a fitness and commercial model signed to Antidote modeling agancy. I was part of the Mr Zimbabwe Finalists 2022 and Mr Zimbabwe Glamour 2022.

Q.How did you discover your career in the modeling sector and how long have you been a prpfessional model? A. The goal was to look good since i was made fun of growing up. I was perceived ugly and funny looking but, when i was 18 i knew there was something i can do about it so i started going to the gym and stayed consistent. One day i just went over to my friend who has a photo studio and asked him to take a picture of me so i can track my progress. Surprisingly, i posted the picture on my Instagram and caught people’s attention including the Antidote modeling agency which then signed and groomed me. This therefore showed me that i was meant for the spotlight and I’ve been a professional model for 4 years.

Q.why did you select fitness modeling and how has is it been for you since you entered in the industry?A. I chosed fitness modeling because it is more competitive and challenging. One can see my creativity just from a glance of my body. I have been in this industry for 4 years so far.

Q.Besides working out how do you keep yourself fit and healthy?A. There are a lot of ways apart from going to the gym to make yourself healthy and fit. For starters, making sure I’m well fed is my top priority. I take a lot of fruits, more than adequate water to stay hydrated and meat. The aforementioned is really good for one’s skin and even the body at large. I can confidently say cold showers also help a lot as far as rejuvenating my skin is concerned. And the most important thing is getting rid of the people that give negative energy and cause stress in your life. It is a tremendous decision but, good for your mental health. I do this and it’s quite helpful in my quest to stay fit and healthy. Also staying around people who love me also plays a pivotal role in my health and fitness.

Q.What motivates you ?A. I’m motivated by only one thing in this life, seeing change. The more i go to the gym and make progress is the more i feel inclined to making progress. I still remember getting ignored by models that made it to the top already until i worked so hard they had to befriend me. So i believe in the power of transition and it gives me the zeal to keep changing for the better.

Q.Aside from fitness modeling can you tell us about your othef career?A. I am an official poet and a journalist for a club called CCYMP. I also a student at Midlands State University doing my bachelors degree in Human Resource Management. I also sell supplements and train people part time.

Q.What are some of the don’ts that you can provide to those who do want to venture into fitness modeling?A. If one is serious about being a fitness model i would strongly recommend that they refrain or stay away from drug and substance abuse. Alcohol is no better. The latter are all detrimental to human health. One should not be impatient with their results in the gym just by merely looking at others that have made it but, rather be motivated by that. The most important thing not to do is getting pressured to take steroids. The goal is to be healthy and steroids are bad for your health in the short and long run. Stay away from them!

Q.How has social media been helpful to your career?A. Social media has played a key role in my career. Having platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp has helped me to reach a lot of people on an international level. Fans, photographers and other models i started working with. Social media has also allowed me to be innovative and creative with use of Tik Tok and more.

Q.Whose IG account motivates you and why?A. I have always looked up to Kelvin “Apple Papi” Mandibatsira. He’s not entirely my archetype but, we grew up together and saw how much hard he worked from zero until his got Instagram a very big audience. His account shows me that you can make it to the top if you put in the work.
