Q.Define yourself,Mpendulo Nkosi ?A.Mpendulo is a boy next door from ekasi, very chilled guy, likes to laugh and interact with people, well-spoken and witty.
Q.You are a model and director of Mister Prestige South Africa how do you manage the two?A. It is pretty difficult I must say because you have to find time for both simultaneously, I’m a student as well that’s also an addition to the occupations but I have an amazing team behind me and a great support system that help me manage everything seamlessly.

Q.Recently you were named part of Mister Supranational South Africa 2023, what does it mean to you? A. It is such a privilege and an honour to be part of this pageant of this magnitude, it is a platform that allows individuals to be agent of change and that is something I had to be part of, this is my very first pageant I’m competing in and I’m just looking forward to learning new things, to grow as an individual, make new friends and above all to be an inspiration to my generation.
Q.What is your take of other contenders ?A.We recently met at the Mr Supranational South Africa workshop and I interacted with some of the guys and may I say these gentlemen are all incredible and are doing remarkable things in their spheres and each is prepared to do wonders with this title and each one of them could make a great titleholder and make South Africa proud.
Q.What separates you from them?A.I have unique thumb prints that no one on earth has which makes me unique already but in addition to that, I have a non-profit organisation called ‘Healing Lives’ ,that has been in existence for about 10 years now and it’s been thriving since.
Q.How do you handle pressure?A.Self affirmation helps deal with pressure, just telling yourself that you’re capable of doing anything you set your mind to and also I do meditation exercises every morning just center my energy but most importantly I pray. I give everything to God and he does the rest.
Q.Can you describe an incident when you managed to help someone who was a stranger in your life?A.I would’nt put it as an incident but an opportunity to help someone, there are a few of them actually but a recent one that really touched my heart was when I did one of my mentor programs, ‘Boys to Men’, where I mentor young boys from 12-19 and I was one of the speakers at the session and this young boy who came to the session told me that motivstion speaking , actually helped him in so many ways because he had lost direction and was at the brink of suicide and he added that it was as if God sent me to speak to him directly and he thanked me for that .This made me realise that when you think you’re just doing a small deed it actually makes so much difference in someone’s life.
Q.Why is charity work important in the modelling sector?A.It shouldn’t just be important in the modelling sector but it should be something that each and every one of us do for each other, it is better the hand that gives than the one that receives and it’s so sad to see that some pageant contestants only use advocacies as a means to get ahead in the competition only to drop it after competing. It should be an on going thing even after competing, a pageant should be a platform to raise awareness of these socioeconomic issues.
Q.Any wise words to models who want to represent their country international ?A.Follow your passion even if you feel that the odds may be against you, if it’s important to you do it!
