ALL SET FOR TRIBAL CHIC

Tribal Chic, Nairobi’s most eagerly awaited fashion event, is back to celebrate sustainable fashion with a top talent pool of local and international designers. The Tribe Hotel’s Village Market event, which initially took place in 2009, has grown into an annual must-attend.

The 12th iteration of Tribal Chic, which is set for February 4th, 2023, will showcase a creative group of designers with conscientious designs crafted from organic, sustainable, and eco-friendly materials. African Lifestyle Hub, Seamline Atelier, Katush, Deepa Dosaja, Aulgah Nato, Vinkay Clothing, Koki Designs, Shenu Hooda, Lakira, KikoRomeo, and We are NBO are among the artists on the schedule for this year.

The most recent iteration, which took place in 2021, was a huge success.
Tribe Hotel’s dedication to allowing humanity to coexist on one earth as one tribe is what inspired this year’s sustainability theme. The interconnectedness of people and the environment is a major factor in the selection of the hotel’s offerings and projects.

“Tribal Chic is more than a fashion show; it’s a cultural exchange of talent and a showcase for Nairobi’s creative community,” stated Shamim Ehsani, Director, Tribe Hotels Group. Tribal Chic is the fulfillment of these ideas, as well as providing a platform for up-and-coming talent and aiding initiatives that improve the lives of others, continued Ehsani. “Tribe has always represented unity, creativity, and the diversity that exists across Africa.

According to Shamim Ehsani, Director of Tribe Hotels Group, “Consumers are becoming more aware of the environmental impact associated with their travels and fashion choices. Tribe is excited to host a showcase of sustainable fashion designers; featuring their collections of clothing and jewelry, created responsibly, with special attention to the impact on community and climate.

After undergoing significant renovations, Tribe recently reopened; the update took into account not only the physical structure but also the facilities and overall visitor experience on the sit.

According to Mike Mwangi, general manager of Tribe Hotel, “In keeping with the’sustainability’ theme, the hotel’s interiors have been thoughtfully redesigned; a blend of rich deep colors; natural stone, wood, stainless steel, glass, rustic metal, and handmade wooden furniture sourced from local artisans.”
