My journey in the Modeling industry has taught me many lessons about being comfortable with my height and to always be confident about the things I aspire to be .As a petite model ,I do not always get the top fashion shows and some other shoots but I have always believe there is truly nothing impossible .I am a testimony that dreams do come true.Beauty pageants gave me a platform to share my story and help me inspire women that their potential is limitless
Q:Can you tell us about your journey on how you became Miss legacy Zimbabwe?
A:The pandemic brought a lot of changes and one of the changes is how everything became virtual. During this time I came across the Miss Legacy world advertisement online and it was open for registration , I procrastinated for a month to get in touch with the organizers until early this year in January I got in touch with them and I was chosen as a representative for Zimbabwe and to as well inform other models about this Pageant.
I provided my biography and portfolio to the organizers and I took this opportunity as a stepping stone to accomplish my dream to represent Zimbabwe on an international platform.
I made a decision to represent my country and with the support of my director I decided to go for it.
Q:You will be competing along with other models from other countries for Miss World legacy what is your strategy ?
A:Thorough preparation is really what I’m pushing for .This will be my first International pageant and I am striving to set that international standard for Zimbabwe. I will compete not with burden of competition but with the love I have for my country.
This will include stepping out of my comfort zone , doing more community outreach programs and lot of stage practice on my walks
Q:Where do you draw your inspiration from ?
A:When I started competing in pageants , I wasn’t a good public speaker, had low self esteem and my communication skills were average, but after competing in different pageants and attending grooming classes , they helped me a lot to be able to show my personality and feel empowered
Q:What word of advise can you provide to up coming pageant models ?
A:Every talent requires nurturing and dedication , know the industry very well before diving deep ,first pageants May go well or not but take courage and have a purpose in why you are doing it . Pageants are not only about beauty but it encourages everyone Girl child to be educated you know the saying“beauty with brains“.Work on educating yourself .
Invest in a grooming class it will feed you with life lasting knowledge.
Q: Currently in Zimbabwe most models they are eyeing for photogenic and commercial modeling unlike in the past they preferred pageant.
A:Pageants have empowered me from the moment I started competing in 2015. I was a bit timid and my nerves would get the best of me whenever I would be called up in class or at a place with a lot of people.
From my first pageant on 2015 at my former High School the support was tremendous.
Im into pageants because with every opportunity I feel empowered, my confidence continues to grow and there is an opportunity of networking hence this enables me to grow my brand too.
In Zimbabwe most models are neglecting the industry because the support that the industry needs in terms of investment and sponsorship isn’t really high yet.So a lot of models are diverting to commercial modeling because one is able to sustain themselves financially through a stable income
Q:What are the duties of Miss Legacy Zimbabwe ?
A:The duties of Miss Legacy World Zimbabwe is to promote a positive platform to all upcoming models of all ages and sizes .
And to uplift the girl child in different communities .
