FASHION DESIGNERS LIGHTENED UP NAMIBIA

Franco-Namibian cultural center in Windhoek hosted the Katutura Fashion Week on the 26th to the 28of November .

The Red Carpert was rolled out to allow those who wanted to take pictures which they will share as to recall the moment.

The Katutura Fashion Week was hosted under the theme,’Uniting Cultures through fashion and bringing fashion to people’.
The event was hosted under Covid-19 pandemic restrictions such as :wearing of masks and sanitizing both guests and participants .


The list of the designers who showcased their products ranged from Zambia,Namibia and Angola . They were over 60 designers who included:Puurfekt Couture by Helen; Dennis Hendricks; Lualbany from Angola; Siuna Design; Soxxclothing from Zambia; m101fashions from Zambia; Limited_mg; Kamily Erasmus; Luisewetu; Holap Brand; Ludwilla; Purely; Fuli’s Crochery; Valo Wear; and several students from the College of the Arts and Katutura Community Arts Centre: Amagola Debby; African Flowerchild; Johannes Hage Geingob; Gift Kambuze and Fikuloye Anneli

The tickets of the runway show ranged from N$150 front row and the standard ticket was N$100.
The founder of the event Hendricks expressed his gratitude to all those who supported the event, the sponsors ,designers,guests and the models .

The Katutura Fashion Week was hosted days before the announcement of strict lockdown due to the new Covid-19 variant Omicron .

The main vision of the fashion week is to promote Namibia’s culture and for designers to share ideas.
