Tyrese Greg Andrews is a 20 year old Zimbabwean model, who is into commercial modelling. As soon as he joined a modelling agency, all went according to his plan as it didnt take much time for him to achieve part of his dream .
Which I’d working with one of biggest brands in the country’s mag ,’Edgars Magazine’.
In an exclusive moment Tyrese explains to us his journey into the commercial modelling and also his understanding about commercial modelling .
TR:It is every models dream to appear in Edgar’s magazine or adverts and you’re one of the few who has achieved that dream, how did you manage to do so?
TA:I was very fortunate to join my agency, CFM just a week before the Edgars Interview.
When I went for the interview I was fairly nervous as it was my first interview as a model, but I kept calm and held myself high and walked into the interview humble but with confidence that I would stand out and do a great job for Edgars.
TR:What makes you to be unique compared to other commercial models ?
TA:We currently live among a very informal generation.
I carry myself very formal and smart which will definitely stand out in the crowd. I can pull off outfits that no one can because of my style and confidence.
TR:What is your understanding of “commerical “modelling ?
TA:I think a commercial model is someone who is able to stand out and sell a product or brand in a very unique way.
TR:Which models inspire you in the commercial industry and why ?
TA:A British Model by the name of Rowan Row inspires me mainly because his fashion style is very formal and he has worked with major brands in the fashion industry.
TR:Which other brands across Africa are you planning to work with ?
TA:At the moment I don’t have plans to work with any brands but my desire is too work with brands such as Jam Jam which is Zimbabwean and a Nigerian Luxury brand called Brown Inspired which makes custom suits and native Nigerian outfits.
TR:What is the main advantage of working with well established brands as a commercial model ?
TA:For me it would be great exposure.
TR:What important lessons have you learnt as a commercial model in the modelling industry ?
TA: haven’t been in the industry for a long time but I’ve learnt that it lacks diversity, that is why my main goal is too stand out and be different. Secondly I’ve learnt that Order is very important because brands do not want to be associated and work with disorderly individuals and agencies.
